How to Land Gigs on UGC Platforms

If you’re looking to turn your passion for creating user-generated content (UGC) into a full-time career, you’re in the right place.

It’s Important to Interview the Brand

In my latest YouTube video (above), I explain how I landed gigs on popular platforms when I first got started like Bee Roll and Backstage. Today, I’ll expand on that by sharing tips on structuring your profile to stand out and how to diversify your portfolio to appeal to different industries. Plus, I have a special gift for you—a free asset with links to some fantastic UGC platforms to help you get started.

Finding Gigs On UGC Platforms

1. Create a Compelling Profile

  • Professional Headshot: A clear, high-quality headshot can make a great first impression.
  • Bio: Write a concise bio that highlights your experience, unique skills, and passion for content creation.
  • Portfolio Links: Include links to your best work. Ensure these links lead to a well-organized portfolio showcasing your versatility.

2. Diversify Your Portfolio

  • Industry-Specific Content: Create and showcase content for various industries such as beauty, tech, fitness, and food. Brands want to see that you can tailor your content to fit their niche.
  • Content Variety: Include different types of content—videos, photos, blogs, and social media posts. This shows your range and ability to adapt to different content needs.

3. Engage with the Community

  • Network: Engage with other creators and brands on these platforms. Comment on their work, join discussions, and build relationships.
  • Stay Active: Regularly update your profile and portfolio with fresh content to keep it relevant and engaging.

So, with that said, unless you’re fluent in The Gilmore Girls speed talking, I would familiarize yourself with what you can realistically read within 30 or 60 seconds at a time. For reference, 180 words is HARD for me to read under 60 seconds.

Want to know my recommended Apps?

I’ve tried a lot of different apps to get hired from brands and some just don’t work well. Input your information below, I’ll email you a notion template that include my recommended apps and I also provide a list of other user-generated content apps that you can check out. All Free.

Structuring Your Profile to Stand Out

To stand out on UGC platforms, your profile needs to be both comprehensive and appealing. You can check out the previous blog How to Create A UGC Portfolio

Here’s how to get started on UGC app platforms:

1. Create an account on an App you trust

  • Use a professional profile picture.
  • Design an eye-catching banner that reflects your brand’s personality.

2. About Me Section

  • Write a captivating bio. Highlight your unique selling points and why brands should hire you.
  • Mention any relevant experience, certifications, and skills.

3. Upload your videos: Portfolio

  • Categorize your work by industry or content type.
  • Include descriptions for each piece, explaining your role and the results achieved.

4. Create your Bio

  • I use the same bio for almost everything. Simply copy and paste unless you want to add in a small personal touch to it.

5. READY. SET. APPLY!!

  • Now that you have a portfolio create on a trusted app, you can start applying to gigs brands have listed.
