Becoming a Content Creator
Hello, aspiring UGC content creators!
This blog is only a portion of what you receive in my courses, but everything you find here is valuable to getting started.
Step 1: Lay the Foundation
User-Generated Content is more than just getting free stuff. If you remember this foundation, you will be on your way to success.
Before diving into brand partnerships and monetization, it’s crucial to establish a solid foundation for your content creation journey.
I summarize three key elements you should focus on when getting started in being a User-Generated Content creator:
- Create a Portfolio
- Create your budget boundaries
- Start applying through third party apps
Step 2: Stick to your word
If you commit to delivering content to a brand in a certain time frame, its important you deliver exactly what you promised.
Right now your reputation is everything with brands. Trust me when i say they remember content creators who deliver on time and more importantly, content creators who are responsive.
There was a project I was not able to meet deadline. I emailed the brand and let them know I’m backed up and when they should expect content, i.e. end of the week.
Brands appreciate strong communication MORE than on-time sloppy work.
The brand was SUPER receptive to this and said they appreciate the communication.
They reached out months later for an additional project.
Step 3: Apply, Apply, Apply.
I applied to probably 20 jobs A DAY when I first got started being a content creator.
The work you put in TODAY will pay off in three months.
From the day you apply, production, delivery, to payment really can take 3 weeks. The cadence you maintain will OVERFLOW in reward.
And when you’re busting your ass, three months will fly by fast.
